Events on Private Land
Most of the events we supply in Pride are not at a hall or a park. They are on somebody’s property — a pasture, a barn lot, the field behind the house. Family reunions, church gatherings, graduation parties, fundraisers held by people who happen to have the land for it.
That’s an advantage in almost every way. No venue to book, no permission to seek, no closing time. But a private field provides nothing, and everything the event needs has to arrive on a truck.
What a Field Doesn’t Have
Shade. Open land in Louisiana between May and September is unusable in the middle of the day without cover. Tents are not decoration at these events; they’re the venue.
Seating. There is nowhere to sit on a pasture. Count generously — at a reunion, people sit for hours.
Power. Usually available at the house and rarely where the event is. Work out the distance in advance; beyond about 100 feet we’ll plan for a generator.
Level ground. Pasture looks flatter than it is. Walk your intended area and pick the most level section rather than the most scenic one, particularly for tents and inflatables.
Scale and Setup Windows
A multi-unit setup on open ground takes longer than the same order in a back yard — longer carries, more distance between items, sometimes a generator to position. Tell us when your guests arrive rather than when the event nominally starts, and we’ll work backwards from that.
Weather Contingency
On private land with no building to retreat into, your tent is the only wet-weather plan you have. Size it for shelter rather than just for shade — a tent that fits everyone comfortably in sunshine is badly undersized the moment a shower pushes the whole party under it.
