The Difference Between Rented Tables and a Set Table
Linens are what separate an event that looks arranged from one that looks assembled. It is the smallest line on most orders and the one that changes the photographs.
For weddings, receptions, church functions and any event where people will be seated for a meal, linen is worth the modest cost. For a backyard children’s party, it usually isn’t — and we’ll say so.
Sizing Is the Whole Job
Linen sizing is the part people get wrong, and getting it wrong is very visible. The drop — how far the cloth hangs below the table edge — depends on both the table’s dimensions and its height, and a cloth sized for a round table will not sit correctly on a rectangular one.
This is why we prefer to supply linens with the tables they’re going on. When both come from the same order, the sizing is simply correct and there’s nothing for you to calculate. If you’re using your own tables or a venue’s, measure them — length, width or diameter, and height — and give us those numbers rather than a description.
